Hybrid Television Services (ANZ) Pty Limited is TiVo Inc's exclusive licensee in Australia and New Zealand. Hybrid Television Services is owned by the Seven Media Group (Australia) and TVNZ (New Zealand).

Convergent media is where a number of services combine into one screen - these services include digital terrestrial television (otherwise known as DTT), broadband content and services and other services that are able to occur due to the fact that there is a return channel between the viewer and the organisation.

In the past, television was primarily a static and linear experience. With technologies like the TiVo media device the viewing experience can be non-linear and interactive.

About TiVo Inc in the USA

When we refer to TiVo in Australia - we talk about Hybrid TV (the exclusive licensee for TiVo in Australia and New Zealand) - however when we refer to TiVo broadly we are speaking of the organisation that has provided us with the license, TiVo Inc., a US company.

Founded in 1997, TiVo, a pioneer in home entertainment, created a brand-new product and service category with the development of the world's first digital video recorder (DVR).
