TiVo can save your relationship!
Research shows 78% of Aussies believe owning a DVR has improved their relationship
SYDNEY, Australia, Tuesday 25 November, 2008 - Research released today by Consumer Analysis Limited based in the United Kingdom shows that 78% of Aussie couples believe that owning a Digital Video Recorder has improved their relationship. Eliminating the need for a "me or the TV" debate or rescheduling romantic dinners around your primetime date with McDreamy, DVRs are heralded worldwide for their positive impact on even the happiest of couples.
TiVo is the latest media device to be launched in Australia, combining DVR capabilities and all the free-to-air digital channels with broadband content, services and games.
Robbee Minicola, CEO of Hybrid Television Services the exclusive licensee of TiVo products in Australia commented on the research; "The findings of the report are not surprising. We all know it's rare for couples to share exactly the same television interests. Fortunately now - and without the burden of ongoing monthly subscription fees - TiVo owners can pause live TV to help carry in the groceries, or take their partner out to dinner knowing their TiVo media device is recording their favourite programs ready for them to view at a time that suits their schedule."
The Consumer Analysis Limited DVR Report is an international report analysing over 1000 respondents spanning the UK, USA, Italy and Australia.
Other key findings from the research confirm the fact that owning a DVR has:
- Improved how much Australians enjoy watching TV (80%)
- Allowed them to better plan their viewing and have more enjoyable evenings with their partner (28%)
- Improved their family life (76%)
- Reduced the number of family arguments over what to watch (34%)
