TiVo® packing in more free games and services
Free broadband Services and Games Packs launching on TiVo just in time for Christmas
Sydney, Australia, Wednesday 3 December 2008 - Hybrid Television Services (ANZ) Pty Ltd, the exclusive licensee of TiVo® products in Australia and New Zealand, has today announced the addition of a number of new applications to both its Games and Services Packs - available free to all TiVo users in Australia.
Since launch, the TiVo media device has included a free Games Pack, including Skull & Bones, Wordsmith and SameGame. This week, TiVo users will see their media device update automatically to include the much loved numbers game, Sudoku, as well as Classy Couples (matching famous couples) and Wild Pairs - a children's game.
The free Services Pack, launched in October with the Sunrise Weather application, will also be expanded to include Horoscopes with daily updates, World Clock to set national and international time zones as well as PixelEyes, a unique service that allows TiVo users to view their photos on their TiVo media device after they have uploaded them online at either Picasa or Photobucket. Even better news is that the family can link their parents' TiVo in another location in Australia to their online albums for viewing on their TiVo!
Hybrid TV CEO, Robbee Minicola, commented; "We are committed to ensuring that the TiVo media device appreciates in value over time and one way to achieve this is through adding new services to the device automatically via the broadband connection. More than 60% of the TiVo family use the Sunrise Weather service each day and the introduction of photo sharing with PixelEyes makes the TiVo media device the perfect Christmas gift for parents, grandparents and the rest of the family."
On 13 November, Hybrid TV invited Australian developers to submit concepts for other applications and games for the TiVo media device. Anyone interested in developing for TiVo in Australia can email developers@mytivo.com.au for the developer's kit and guidelines.
