TiVo achieves record summer sales

Sydney, Australia, 2 March, 2011 – Hybrid Television Services (ANZ) Pty Limited, the licensee of TiVo® products in Australia and New Zealand and the creator of CASPATM On-Demand, today announced it has far surpassed the competition in sales over the 2010 Christmas period. TiVo achieved number one in unit sales and revenue for its retail partners, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith and Myer.

The new recommended price of $499 kick-started sales in November 2010 and this strong sales performance continued through Christmas and right up to end of February 2011.
Market share for TiVo has grown from 18% per cent in October 2010 to 29% in December 2010 according to GfK data.

“Australians have embraced the TiVo brand since our launch in August 2008 and our recent success over Christmas is a testimony to the fact that people love their TV shows and love being in control of when they watch them.

“This represents an amazing outcome for the entire 2010 calendar year where we have maintained our position as the number one HD-PVR sold in the market.

“Our leading sales position would not happen without the tremendous support of JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Myer and Radio Rentals (SA). They know our product, the features and repeatedly recommend TiVo to families, seniors and singles day in and day out,” said Robbee Minicola, Chief Executive, Hybrid TV.

Hybrid TV expects to maintain its number one market leadership throughout 2011.
