Transferring to your computer
Desperate Housewives or Packed to the Rafters...why not both!?...
Not your night to control the remote? Well with TiVo Desktop you can transfer your TiVo recordings to your PC and watch with Windows Media Player!
From TiVo Desktop select "Pick Recordings to Transfer" and then select any number of recordings to queue. Recordings will transfer in the order they are selected.
Please note: transfer times will vary according to the quality of the video content. For example High Definition content will generally transfer at a slower speed than standard definition content.
Files will download automatically to your My TiVo Recordings folder under My Documents for you to watch at any time. Any digital rights management protected content will not transfer to your PC.
You can take this function one step further by enabling auto-transfers of a specific series. Make sure you select a "Keep at Most" value since these files are rather large and can take up a lot of space on your personal computer's hard drive. Once set up, your auto-transfer series will transfer the latest episode to your PC as soon as it has finished recording on your TiVo media device.
To take full advantage of the Home Networking Package and enable transfers from TiVo to Mac, Mac users will also need to install third party software, Roxio® Toast 10 Titanium.
